River Island criss crossin'

River Island, has anyone checked them out recently? They seem to have nailed it for SS16 and I'm loving their mix of prints, fresh white hues and dreamy denims. I've turned into a total ASOS addict recently too, and both brands are completely killing it. Much as I love this look, I'm hopeful that with the promise of Spring blooming, this cream faux fur jacket won't be a staple for much longer. I HAD to snap up this bright pink lattice vest, a hot pink number I'm wearing backwards so that the slashed style gets a look-in. And can we talk about SS? Guys! Nearly time for the clocks to go forward! Nearly time for the blossom to babe out. For sunshine and those cocktails and that gorgeous SS wardrobe to stun and dazzle!
Ah, it's been ages since I sat down to blog properly. It's been doing my head in that I haven't blogged for so long. I miss it. In truth I just can't be one of these people that blogs relentlessly hard if I'm not feeling it, I need to believe that the content I put out is unique and meaningful enough for creation. I've also had a really manic time since February. I was away for my birthday celebrations, I've been doing more hours at work, I'm writing a book which is a bloody long process, I promise you. It also means I need to get into a good headspace whilst writing it, and draw myself into the characters, their emotions, feelings, goings-on, dramas, day to day lives etc. I spend hours thinking about it (the book) and thinking about them, (the characters) so much so that I feel like I know them personally in real life, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been trying to write and focus on the book but it's also meant I've had no time for soinspo which sucks. I will make enough hours, dammit.
Fear not though, I'm looking towards big things for the blog, especially come Spring/Summer. I did my AW related checklist: get a jazzy gold layout, print business cards, attend Blognix. Now for some summer soinspo! I'd like to steer my focus towards adding a few new elements to the blog; namely make-up looks on Instagram and some Saturday chatty vlogs. As well as buying up half of ASOS's summer stock and doing some tropical shoots of course. Stating the obvious and all.

  2. You always look so beautiful and shoot the most amazing outfits and this is no exception! I love the gorgeous hot pink shade and the criss cross detailing. Such a great idea to turn the top around to showcase the design. I'm not really that big a fan of River Island but last season they had some great pieces and spring summer looks like they're continuing to step it up. Asos, on the other hand, I am completely addicted to aswell. I seriously want pretty much everything they have constantly. I also had no idea you were writing a book, that is absolutely incredible!! I can only imagine how difficult and how much work it must be, I really hope it's going well for you! Katie xx

  5. Oh, hello! Bright pink looks wonderful on you <3 Love the criss cross, and your awesome jacket, of course! I know what you mean about ASOS, there are so many gorgeous things on that site at the moment, I'm trying to steer clear so I don't get too tempted! You've been such a busy bee and I think you're doing so well with your dedication to your book ♥ xxx

  6. Girl you look absolutely stunning as always! I love how you've styled this top, I really want to get my hands on some lattice tops, they just look so beaut.

I can't believe your writing a book, that's amazing! I'd love to read some!

You're so right, it's very difficult putting out content when you haven't got your head in the right place. I always have about 10 draft posts just waiting for those days so I can hit publish & not have to think about editing anything! xx

  13. Hey Soph!!! I'm glad to see that the UK is getting slightly warmer, hopefully you'll be able to rock this criss-cross vest a lot more as it keeps getting milder. The faux fur looks fab with it too and I am digging this hot pink shade on you! I miss River Island, but I'm totally with you on the Asos front- I think I spend half my wages there!

Glad your book is going well :) It's understandable that we all go through periods of times when we are not as inspired when it comes to blogging (me included). And it is so hard working a job and blogging- I'm struggling at the moment as I'm trying to find a new job at the same time too.

I'm so excited to read your book! Keep up being all pink and glorious

  14. Oh my, Sophie, you look incredible! So happy to see you're back, and I must say I loved this post! The pictures are downright fabulous - I love the contrast between the big fur and the bright pink dress, and that slash is so stunning, gives it a 70's (or maybe 90's?) vibe I love so much. Also your book writing seems like such an interesting process, please talk about its progress on the blog, because I've always dreamed of being a writer myself but as that's never happening I would love to follow up on how your writing is going :D You're a star Sophie, keep up the amazing work, can't wait to see what's up next!

  16. I'll be in the UK soon so I'm super happy that it's getting a bit warmer. Seoul is still quite chilly, but hopefully it'll be warming up soon! It's so awesome that you're working on a book. I can't wait to check it out once you're finished! Anyways, great look!! :)

  21. That pink is definitely your color! It looks gorgeous on you! I really wish we had River Island here. I took a shopping trip there when I was in London and I loved it! :D I wish I could pull off a jacket like that, but I would get some funny looks considering how hot it always is where I live...still wishing for some cold weather! Love this whole look!

  23. I really struggle to blog too when I'm not feeling it, just done a post about why I haven't blogged for the last month, I just wasn't happy with any of my drafts and I'm not happy to post them just to have something to post. So happy to hear that you're writing a book, you're such an amazing writer and can't wait to hear about it :) xx

PS. You look gorgeous as always :) xx
